The art of living well and the art of dying well are one. - Epicurus
The landscape of Greece was both city and country. There were a series of mountains and a lot of small islands. There were seas around Greece. The Mediterranean Sea made Greece's climate cool in the summer and provides some warmth in the winter. Winters were moderate and rainy in areas by the coast and cold and snowy by mountains.
The landscape affected what jobs the people had in the city-states. City-states that were by the water became expert sailors and fishers. The main crops grown if you farmed were barley, grapes, and olives. The city-states had trouble trading due to isolation because of all the mountains and islands.
